Committees of the River Oaks Homeowners Association
The Board of Directors has established several committees to support the effective operation and community engagement of River Oaks HOA. These committees are staffed exclusively by current HOA homeowners who volunteer their time and expertise to serve our neighborhood.

Welcoming Committee
Charter:
The Welcoming Committee ensures that new HOA members feel informed and welcomed when joining our community. The committee creates and distributes information packets to help new residents understand:

That River Oaks is an active HOA with a governing Board and committees

How to access important HOA documents, announcements, covenants, and bylaws via our website

The difference between the voluntary Palm River Civic Association and the mandatory River Oaks HOA
The committee presents updates and recommendations to the Board at regular meetings but does not have authority to act on behalf of the Board or the HOA unless expressly delegated.
Budget: None
Term: 12 months, subject to renewal by the Board

Prepare welcome materials for new members upon property ownership transfer
Lakes / Maintenance Committee
Charter:
This committee monitors the condition of neighborhood lakes and cul-de-sacs, providing status reports and recommending maintenance actions to the Board.
The committee:

Requests and reviews quotes for lake and cul-de-sac maintenance (Board recommends at least three quotes per project)

Maintains and updates the HOA maintenance calendar for public posting
The committee reports regularly to the Board but cannot act independently without explicit Board authorization.

Term: 12 months, renewable by the Board

Governing Documents Committee
Charter:
Charged with developing, revising, and modernizing the HOA’s governing documents, this committee drafts updates for Board consideration to keep our bylaws current and effective.
The committee regularly updates the Board but does not have decision-making power or budget authority.

Term: 12 months, renewable

Financial Review Committee
Charter:
This committee reviews HOA financial statements and advises the Treasurer and Board on financial matters.
Members analyze available financial data and report findings and recommendations during Board meetings.
